The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life did not just interview in America. There were more than 25000 face to face interviews in 19 countries in Africa. Get this. About half of Chad’s Christians practice polygamy – far more than Christians or Muslims elsewhere in Africa. According to the report we read in the June 2010 issue of Christianity Today, these Christians in Chad also scored high in support of extramarital sex (31%) and prostitution (12%).
Polygamy isn’t popular in America, though multiple sexual partners might be. How would you say the American Christian’s view of extramarital sex and prostitution have changed? What comes to mind for you when you read this information?
