Putting off until later what needs to be done right now not only frustrates the people who count on you, it also indicates a presumption about actually having time later to do it. God says that is sin (James 4:13-17).
What have you been promising your spouse or yourself that you were going to do, but haven’t done yet? We’re not talking here about breaking a habit, changing careers, or moving to Panama City Beach. We’re talking about something you’ve been intending to do that you could go do today.
Your M&M (Meditate and Memorize) passage for today’s challenge is James 4:13-17.
“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil. If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.”
The Challenge: Read it 3 times today, meditate on how you could put some skin on it today, and memorize verse 17.
Then, go do that something for your spouse that you’ve been saying you would do.
Go do it!!
