Live without Cheating

1. Recognize the potential. Nearly everybody who has cheated would have said at one time, “I would never cheat.”
2. Keep your guard up with members of the opposite sex except your spouse. Vulnerability to someone’s kindness doesn’t usually announce itself.
3. Avoid partnering up on projects at work, church, etc. when it’s just you and someone of the other gender.
4. Hands off.
5. When things go any farther than they should have with someone else, the relationship that allowed it must be change. Don’t just say, “We won’t do that again.”
6. Don’t share your relationship struggles with opposite genders. People love to be rescuers and rescuers often become lovers.
7. Remember that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Some will appreciate this reference, “Affairs can lead to a bunny in the pot.”
8. Keep in mind that if you are a Christian, you have the Holy Spirit in you. Don’t take him there.
9. Keep in mind that your body doesn’t just belong to you, it also belongs to your spouse. Don’t take your spouse there.
10. Understand that though an affair doesn’t have to mean divorce for you, if your marriage survives, it will be in spite of the fact that you brought the deepest kind of hurt to the one you promised to love, honor, and cherish.
