“Songs remain, “says Neil Gaiman of the Anansi Boys. “They last. The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing-stock, can bring down dynasties. A song can last long after the events and the people in it are dust and dreams are gone. That’s the power of songs.”
Yes, songs are powerful. You know, the most erotic book in the Bible is the Song of Songs. “Song of Songs” means the best of the songs. Pick up a guitar and sing this:
Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest
is my beloved among the young men.
I delight to sit in his shade,
and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
Let him lead me to the banquet hall,
and let his banner over me be love.
Strengthen me with raisins,
refresh me with apples,
for I am faint with love.
His left arm is under my head,
and his right arm embraces me. (Song of Songs 2:3-6)
Now maybe you really got into that or maybe you didn’t. The Challenge for Day 7 is to put together a play list of songs that your spouse would love to get into. What would they love to hear? What are your spouse’s songs of songs? Putting these songs on his or her MP3 player or burning them onto a CD would make an incredible “Day before Valentine’s” gift. Your M&M verse for today’s challenge is Song of Songs verse 6, describing the secure yet gentle way that many women love to have their man hold them.
